CELTIC, Central Europe. Vindelici. Late 3rd or very early 2nd century BC. 1/24 Stater (Gold, 7 mm, 0.33 g, 12 h), 'Androkephales Pferd II' type. Male head to right, wearing diadem (?) and long wavy hair.
Rev. Man-headed horse galloping to left, head turned back to right, hind legs with claws and body constricted by a torque (?); on horseback above, bird to right; below, bird to left. Flesche 349 (

same dies). Extremely rare, the best of less than a dozen known examples. Sharply struck and from a very early die state with exceptionally clear details. Good extremely fine.
